Timothy majored in East Asian Studies at Harvard University with a focus on contemporary China. While at Harvard Timothy also founded a charity fashion show featuring Asian designers and wrote his honors thesis about consumer culture in China. After graduating Timothy moved to Shanghai where he continued to do his own field research for nearly a decade.
During his time in China Timothy also helped top retailers such as Lane Crawford and Opening Ceremony launch their China programs, and consulted for a variety of international brands such as Swatch, Nike, Adidas, Merrell, Sperry, Pepsi, and Disney; his range of experiences and accomplishments across retail, media, and research earned him a position as one of the “Top 10 Most Influential People in the Chinese Fashion Industry” by Modern Media.
Currently Timothy is serving as a Board Member for Fashion Revolution USA while also working on his own consumer education platform called Reforme U.
